Programme overview

Introduction:

Cabin crew training decides whether passengers experience a calm, safe and well-served flight or a cabin where a missed exit check, a slow galley or an escalating argument goes unnoticed. Many aspiring and newly hired crew reach operator training with little grounding in cabin routines, safety awareness and on-board service standards. This Core Concept preparatory course builds that grounding for future flight attendants and in-flight service trainers; it does not grant a cabin crew licence, attestation or aircraft type qualification. Participants compile a Cabin Crew Service and Safety Readiness Portfolio.

Course Objectives:

  • Describe cabin crew duties in every flight phase and locate doors, crew stations, galleys and emergency equipment in a typical aircraft cabin
  • Conduct a pre-flight crew briefing contribution, cabin equipment checks and a passenger safety demonstration to a consistent standard
  • Recognise smoke, fire, decompression, turbulence and evacuation situations at awareness level and apply basic on-board first aid until further help is available
  • Deliver meal and beverage service by cabin class to galley hygiene and stowage standards, including special meals and passengers with special needs
  • De-escalate difficult and disruptive passengers and communicate with the senior cabin crew member and flight deck using crew resource management principles
  • Maintain grooming, professional image, fatigue management and wellbeing habits and record progress in a Cabin Crew Service and Safety Readiness Portfolio

Target Audience:

  • Aspiring cabin crew preparing for airline selection and operator initial training
  • Newly hired flight attendants in their first months of line flying who want to consolidate cabin routines
  • In-flight service trainers and cabin crew instructors responsible for service standards and onboarding of new crew
  • Ground service and hospitality staff moving into on-board passenger service roles
  • Corporate and charter flight hosts responsible for passenger comfort and safety awareness in smaller cabins

Skills You Will Gain:

  • Cabin Familiarisation
  • Safety Demonstration Delivery
  • Pre-Flight Cabin Checks
  • Emergency Awareness
  • Galley Service Standards
  • Disruptive Passenger De-Escalation
  • Crew Resource Management
  • Fatigue Self-Management

Why Attend This Course:

  • Return with a Cabin Crew Service and Safety Readiness Portfolio of checklists, service flows and self-assessment notes to take into operator training or line flying
  • Deliver a safety demonstration and a two-class meal service with more confidence after rehearsing them in a simulated cabin
  • Respond calmly to a disruptive or unwell passenger by using practised de-escalation phrases and clear crew communication
  • Understand what operator initial training will expect, with a plain view that this course is preparatory and not a licence or attestation

Conclusion:

Safe and gracious cabins depend on routines practised long before the first line flight. The five days move from the crew role, cabin layout and professional image, through briefings, safety demonstrations and crew resource management, to service by cabin class and galley standards, then to emergencies at awareness level, first aid basics, disruptive passengers and fatigue. The final day runs a simulated flight with a safety scenario and completes a Cabin Crew Service and Safety Readiness Portfolio for the next stage of training.
